5 Minutes With… Glenda Chua

What does a typical day look like for you?

I usually try to wake up about 20 minutes before I actually need to get out of bed, just to catch up a little on what I missed while asleep or scroll through social media and ease into the day. Breakfast is non-negotiable, I’m a bread fiend, and my brain simply cannot function without fuel. The workday is typically spent working with clients and coming up with fun campaign ideas, before winding down with a session at my favourite Pilates studio or the gym. And if I’m feeling cheeky, the day might end with a casual drink or two with friends.

Which aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

I really enjoy meeting new people while catching up with familiar faces, and that is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. I also take a lot of pride in my work, and I get a real sense of satisfaction in seeing people enjoy the events and tastings I’ve helped bring to life. And of course, working in hospitality and F&B PR doesn’t hurt when it comes to great food and drinks!

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I’ve always been quite social and naturally caring — fun fact, I’m actually a certified Early Childhood educator. At one point in school, I even considered becoming a Correctional Rehabilitation Specialist with the Singapore Prison Service. I’m a big believer in second chances, and after watching a documentary on their work, I found the idea of supporting rehabilitation rather than punishment very compelling.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I’m a very active person, whether that’s Pilates, going to the gym, or just getting a good walk in. I also love discovering new food and drink spots around the city, catching up with friends, though these usually end up as a night out🤪I’m also a huge F1 fan, and I absolutely cannot wait for the 2026 season!

Do you have any “hidden talents”?

I think I read people quite well. My instincts are usually spot on, and I’m pretty good at picking up on intentions. Whether or not I act on them is another story 🫢
