Our Top Client Picks for Takeaway & Delivery Over Phase 2 (Heightened Alert)

Accela PR Website (4).png

It’s not the news we hoped we would be hearing this week, but we’re back to Phase Two (Heightened Alert) with Singapore’s bars and restaurants closing through mid-August to control the latest community spread. With the third closure since the start of COVID, we’re revisiting how we can continue to support Singapore’s F&B community during this challenging time.

Working with a wide range of hospitality clients across our four verticals, this industry is especially close to our hearts – so we’ve rounded up their takeaway and delivery offerings for your home-dining enjoyment.

Whether you’re ordering food for your family, hosting (no more than two) friends, or looking to restock your bar cart for the weeks ahead, our comprehensive guide has you covered.

We share how our clients have pivoted their menus for the situation, how you can order and what our (tried and verified!) top picks are from each place.

28 HongKong Street

28 HongKong Street rolled out a new collection of bottled drinks and bites during the first Phase 2 Heightened Alert, so if you missed them the first time around, this is your chance to try them out. Favourite bottled drinks from Circuit Breaker are back including the Lazy Bear with Widges Gin, Mancino Bianco Vermouth, peach liqueur and French herbs (S$45 / 250ml) and The Fess with Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum, Italian bitters, dark chocolate and sea salt (S$63 / 300ml); new additions include the Coppertone No. 2, a Pina Colada inspired Old Fashioned with Plantation Pineapple & XO Rums, coconut and baking spice (S$45 / 250ml) and 28 Bobby Burns, the classic Scotch cocktail made smokey with Mackintosh Blended Malt, Smokey Monkey, Mancino Rosso Vermouth, Benedictine and Amaro (S$45 / 250ml). The new and improved flask cocktail labels also offer access to 28’s signature hip hop playlists and an offer to redeem the bottle for a cheeky shot of dark rum.

How to order: The online catalogue is available here. Order for takeaway or delivery between 5 to 10:30 pm, Monday through Saturday; orders placed while the bar is closed will be delivered the next day.

Our top picks: We can’t say no to 28’s legendary Mac’N Cheese Balls (pro tip: add a few dashes of hot sauce), which pair perfectly with the smoky, bittersweet Mezcal Negroni.

Barbary Coast

While you’re trying to figure out how to install Barbary Coast’s famous “Press for Champagne” button in your own home, check out the delivery and takeaway offerings from the dual concept venue. From casual sandwiches and bites from Deadfall to the elegant cheese and charcuterie and other deli options from Barbary Coast Ballroom, you can’t go wrong with their food menu. A selection of cocktails is also on offer from $60 for a 375ml bottle.

How to order: Takeaway and delivery orders can be placed here or in person at the takeaway window, from 3PM - 12 midnight.

Our top picks: We can never resist the Cheese and Charcuterie platter from Ballroom, and we love the option of adding on extras of our favourites from the Deli menu (Sourdough & Smoked Butter, we’re looking at you). Wash it all down with the Tommy Tomate, the bar’s savoury twist on a classic Tommy’s Margarita with mezcal, tomato, kaffir, agave and lime.

With craft spirits at an affordable price point, alcohol distribution company Dyspatchr offers exclusive access to some of the most unique spirits from around the world. Their collection spans across all spirits categories, bitters, tonics and other mixers along with ready-to-drink options if you want to keep things easy. Bundles are also available if you’re ordering for a group gathering, or further your spirits education through one of their Spirited Subscriptions.

How to order: Place your order online with free same day delivery for orders above $75 placed by 1PM.

Our top picks: It’s safe to say gin is one of our favourite spirits on the Accela team – we’re partial to AMASS out of the US and India’s Stranger & Sons Gin.

Our top picks: As gin drinkers, we’re enjoying the new Citadelle Jardin D'été Gin which recently launched in Singapore. Inspired by a French garden cultivated by the wife of Citadelle Founder and Master Distiller, Alexandre Gabriel, Citadelle Jardin d’été is created with the addition of melon flesh, whole lemon, yuzu zest and additional orange peel on top of the botanicals found in Citadelle Original Gin - just like summer in a bottle.

Our top picks: Hands down, the Smash Burger is an uncontested favorite. Save it for your cheat day – it’s worth it. Top up with some bottled cocktails – we love the classics like the Manhattan and Negroni, but you can also request a custom bottle of a cocktail of your choosing.

Our top picks: You can’t go wrong with any of the food from the Peruvian offerings, but we keep going back to our standby from Junior’s core menu – the Mala Hot Chicken Sandwich, fried and topped with Szechuan sauce, pickled pineapple and purple cabbage slaw (S$21). Cool down your palate with the refreshing Chilcano, a mix of Pisco Acholado, ginger beer, lime, gentian and cucumber.

Low Tide

Takeaway frozen drinks, need we say more? This newcomer to the bar scene was only open a few weeks when the new Phase Two regulations were rolled out, and made a quick pivot to takeaway and delivery during the first P2HA - including two flavours of boozy slushies for takeaway. While we await our chance to knock back a few daiquiris on their breezy Club Street patio, we’ll be treating ourselves to some tiki concoctions and bites from their indulgent delivery menus.

How to order: Grub and dranks are online here. One hour island-wide delivery is available, with orders open from 12 noon till 12 midnight everyday. Any orders not received during that time will be processed for the next day.

Our top picks: A new Accela favourite would have to be the award-winning Lyre’s Amalfi Spritz, a bittersweet canned tipple with orange notes perfectly fused with the complex and astringent flavours of rhubarb, finishing dry and deliciously refreshing. We also love their Sets which are created around classic cocktails, making home mixing easier than ever.
